Capt. Randy is a native of Indian Rocks Beach FL. Still living in the home he was raised in, he is the most ambitious beach resident ever ! His love for fishing, crabbing, being on the water and the beach community is what everyone is talking about. He never stops...
As a child, Capt Randy was what was known as a "Pier Rat" of the Indian Rocks Beach community. Many will remember the well known fishing pier. Sadly in 1985 Hurricane Elana took her away from the community. This is where many youthful nights of fishing took place for most beach kids. They would shark fish all night, and go to school the next morning. The "Pier Rats" were well known by the residents and many are still close friends today.
He became a captain in 1986. In 1987 Randy decided there were no boats being made for him and what he invisioned, so he bought a Number 1 Hull from Key West, FLorida. His plan was not the usual design, no written plans or diagrams, just what he thought he would do to make it a "real fishing" vessel. Not a pleasure boat - A fishing vessel. It took Capt Randy 3 years to get it ready for launching, and what a dream come true.
Randy's passion for fishing is addictive. He has built his client list from repeats, referrals, friends and family. Randy works full-time for the City of Indian Rocks Beach and has for over 31 years now. Fishing is his part-time work and full-time play.
